Open the photo detail page for the photo you want to favorite.
If the icon is blue youve added the photo to your favorites album.
This will bring you to your camera roll where at the top of it it will say recents.
The photos will continue.
If no controls are visible tap your screen once to bring up the on screen controls again.

To make a post on instagram you select the button at the bottom of the app.
Now tap on albums at the bottom of your screen.
Once you open up the picture preview hit the star icon in the top right corner when you do itll be favorited.
Youll see underneath the star icon the word favorite see below.
